FellowStagg EKG Pro.

The verdict in one line: Fellow's own spec sheet gives the Stagg EKG Pro a 40C to 100C, to-the-degree range that covers every water temperature our pour-over, AeroPress, and French press guides call for, with two honest gaps: no built-in scale, and a 0.9 liter capacity that clears our French press guide's two-cup, 800 gram example by a narrow margin.

Plain speech

Buy it, or don't.

For you if

  • You brew across pour-over, AeroPress, and French press and want one kettle whose 40C-100C, to-the-degree range covers every water temperature our three guides call for
  • You want a gooseneck spout built for the steady spiral pour our pour-over guide's method calls for
  • You want single-degree, 0.5F increment control to hit each guide's exact target, 96C for pour-over and French press, 80 to 85C for AeroPress, rather than estimate it on a dial

Not for you if

  • You want a kettle with a built-in scale: our pour-over, AeroPress, and French press guides all list a digital scale as separate required gear, and Fellow's own spec sheet has no integrated scale
  • You regularly run two-cup French press batches back to back: the 0.9 liter rated capacity clears the guide's 800g two-cup example by only about 100ml, and Fellow does not publish a separate max-fill line
  • You need a longer reach from the outlet: Fellow lists a 2.5 ft (76.2cm) cord

Fellow Stagg EKG Pro against our numbers

The Stagg EKG Pro is Fellow’s electric gooseneck kettle for pour-over, and it already sits on our kettles and scales shelf for pour-over, AeroPress, and French press. Fellow’s own product page puts the temperature range at 40C to 100C (104F to 212F), adjustable to-the-degree in 0.5F increments, the number every check on this page runs against.

Our pour-over guide calls for water at 90 to 96C off the boil, our French press guide brews near-boiling at a 96C dial setting, and our AeroPress guide spans two published numbers: AeroPress’s own 80 to 85C and Counter Culture’s hotter 96C recipe. All three windows sit inside the kettle’s rated range, and the 0.5F increment control lets you dial to the exact single-degree target each guide names rather than approximate it.

Two gaps are worth stating plainly. The kettle’s 0.9 liter rated capacity clears the French press guide’s own two-cup example, 800g of water, by roughly 100ml, a narrow margin, and Fellow’s spec sheet does not list a separate max-fill line below that rated figure. And the scale requirement in all three guides does not go away: each one lists a digital scale as gear alongside the kettle, and Fellow’s own spec sheet has no integrated scale or weighing feature.

FAQ

Does the Stagg EKG Pro get hot enough for French press?

Yes. Fellow’s spec sheet rates the kettle from 40C to 100C (104F to 212F), which covers the near-boiling water our French press guide calls for at its 96C dial setting.

Can I hit AeroPress’s official lower temperature as well as Counter Culture’s hotter recipe?

Yes. Both numbers, AeroPress’s own 80 to 85C and Counter Culture’s 96C, fall inside the kettle’s 40C to 100C range, and the 0.5F increment control lets you set either exactly rather than estimate it.

Is 0.9 liters enough water for a two-cup French press?

It clears the French press guide’s own two-cup example of 800g of water, since 0.9 liters is roughly 900g. The margin is narrow, about 100ml, and Fellow’s spec sheet does not publish a separate max-fill line below the rated 0.9 liter capacity.

Do I still need a separate scale?

Yes. Our pour-over, AeroPress, and French press guides all list a digital scale as required gear alongside the kettle. Fellow’s own spec sheet for the Stagg EKG Pro covers temperature, power, materials, weight, and hold mode, with no integrated scale.

What is different about the Pro Studio Edition?

Fellow’s product page notes the Pro Studio Edition swaps in glass and metal touch points in place of the standard model’s BPA-free plastic handle and lid pull, and states the rest of the specifications are otherwise identical between the two.
