FellowAiden Precision Coffee Maker.

The verdict in one line: The published specs show an automatic brewer with a bloom stage and a single-cup size, but no sheet we fetched states a water temperature range, a brew time, a scale or a hand-pour spiral, so it suits someone who wants pour-over numbers without the pouring.

Plain speech

Buy it, or don't.

For you if

  • You brew one cup at a time most days: Seattle Coffee Gear lists #2 cone single cups up to 16 ounces, which covers our 250 g one-cup recipe
  • You want a bloom stage built in: Fellow states a dedicated bloom followed by measured pulses

Not for you if

  • You follow our guide's hand-poured V60 method to the second: no fetched sheet states a total brew time, and Fellow describes a showerhead, not a spiral pour
  • You expect the machine to replace every piece of gear: our guide lists a digital scale with a timer, and Fellow's details list no scale
  • You are short on counter or cabinet space: Fellow lists 8 15/16 x 8 15/16 x 12 in and 9.6 lb

Fellow Aiden Precision Coffee Maker against our numbers

The Aiden is Fellow’s automatic drip brewer built to mimic pour-over. Fellow’s own product page describes a dedicated bloom followed by measured pulses, a rated maximum capacity of 1.5 L (up to 10 cups) and a double wall thermal carafe. Our pour-over guide is written around a hand-poured V60, so the checks ask how much of that method the specs cover.

The temperature check fails: Fellow’s page says “to-the-degree temperature control” but states no range, and the only retailer listing that gives one disagrees with Fellow on dimensions, weight and capacity, so we do not use it. The one-cup size also passes: Seattle Coffee Gear lists single cups up to 16 ounces on a #2 cone filter.

Five checks fail, and they are gaps in the published specs, not proof of poor coffee. Fellow lists cone filters in the box but states no V60-style dripper or cone brew bed. None of the three fetched pages states a total brew time against our 3:30 target. Fellow describes a showerhead rather than the steady spiral our guide pours. And our guide lists a digital scale as gear, which the Aiden’s details do not include. Retailer figures for capacity and weight differ from Fellow’s, so this page uses Fellow’s numbers.

FAQ

Does the Aiden reach the water temperature our pour-over guide uses?

We cannot confirm it. Fellow’s page describes temperature control but publishes no range, so the check against our 90 to 96C (195 to 205F) window fails on missing data.

Can it brew a single 250 g cup?

Seattle Coffee Gear states the Aiden switches to #2 cone filters for single cups up to 16 ounces. Our guide’s one-cup brew is 15 g of coffee to 250 g of water, which fits inside that size. Fellow lists a rated maximum of 1.5 L, up to 10 cups.

What filters does it take?

Fellow states it includes 15 cone filters and 15 flat bottom filters. It lists compatibility with Melitta #2 cone filters and Melitta 8-12 cup basket filters.

Does it come with a carafe, and what about cleaning?

Fellow lists a double wall thermal carafe and a removable water tank that lifts out for filling and cleaning at the sink. It states that cleaning and maintenance instructions are in the Safety Manual.
